After careful reviewing and editing of the Purgatory Pizza script, I'm thinking of holding off on the micro-sode idea for a project that is a better fit. Hopeing to release a Purgatory Pizza scene in the next few days, stay posted.

I've got a question for you:
What's the shortest runtime is for a successful series? (flash included)
I see a lot of successful videos on YouTube and similar sites run between 2:00 - 3:45 (interesting: the same time as a radio single). In that time you can create characters, and make the audience care about them or the situation. This is great for everybody, it creates die-hard fans and provides a more enjoyable experience. But we've also all seen the super short 3 - 5 second videos (i.e. Dramatic Groundhog), with millions of views, but there's no plot or story to follow up on. Short of shock value these clips don't emotionally resonate.
So I pose the question: What's the fastest way to resonate with an audience?
I've been tracking viral videos and experimenting with Moving Box's videos (using the awesome site TubeMogul). Through my research I've got a lead: about 20 seconds. Taking pacing and script into account, I'm going to run an experiment with our new series, Purgatory Pizza. 20 seconds clips, each with one (or two) encapsulated joke(s), and some degree of character development. Episodic, so you can watch them all and get a story. I'm aiming to release one here on NG in the next 48 hours.
What do you think?

Thank You! There were awesome results for the Olympus Burger Trailer Focus Group, thank you so much for everyone who gave their opinions. Version 3 coming soon, I re-worked the whole intro and edited even tighter, and found some better clips. Now we're doing sound design :)

EDIT: Version 2 is up!
Hey there,
The time is coming! We're preparing to pitch Olympus Burger, we've got the contact info for a number of TV executives (including Adult Swim), and we've been practicing our pitch. We got a Greek Classicist on-board to make sure we stay true to the myths.
Newgrounds has been by far the largest success for the Olympus Burger Pilot. I felt that the pilot didn't do too well on other sites because, well, it was just too long. So I've cut a trailer just over a minute, hoping to reach the people the pilot didn't make it to.
To make sure it's as tight as it can be, I've posted a Flash version on here today. Please watch it and review with your honest thoughts. This trailer needs to be the best it can be, and I feel this is the only community I trust to really let me know what's what.
I know the last thing I submitted to the portal was a trailer, but I hope you can take the minute and nine seconds to check this new one out. I've already got some great feedback, and I'm looking for more.
Bless this community and it's creators. Big ups to everyone who's watched, rated and reviewed Olympus Burger. Wish us luck, and we'll continue to strive for quality entertainment.

Just posted a (badass) trailer for our new pilot, Purgatory Pizza. I know, what's with the food franchises, right?
WATCH IT. VOTE FIVE!
This trailer is all flash expect for the lens flare I did in After Effects. Hope you enjoy it. Took about two days, we started with a totally different idea and tone, but after a few hours of research for an Olympus Burger trailer, we decided to take it a more "big budget" rout. Not that we had any money behind this, but the sound effects we found/made sure make it seem that way (I hope :)
I'm happy with the results. Check it out! The pilot is coming soon!

Hey yo,
I just posted Joe Zohar's Repentance on here. It has my number one favorite credit sequence in it, plus it's a pretty sweet short film. About 3-4 minutes, with awesome music by Erik Spangler.
This is also a test to see how Newgrounds like live-action films. I've seen a few on here, so I figured I'd toss up one of ours. The credits were animated in Flash, because i wouldn't do ya like that, NG. Hope you enjoy!

Holy Wow! I decided to animate a joke that we loved but didn't make it into the pilot episode of Olympus Burger. We opted for the more accessible "Animal House" reference, instead of the more offensive short that I just finished. New character artist Liz McLelland drew a really hot girl, and we were able to get Ben Maizell (the original Zeus) back in the studio for this one. It was also cool because it was the first flash in a while that I animated entirely on my own. Backgrounds a la Google Image search and some vector compositing. Hope you enjoy!

Yay! This is a flash we finished last year, but due to computer stupids, we couldn't get a flash version until now. Dave Livingston did an awesome musical score, and you can even hear me on the harmonica. Created by David Erner of Seiki-Jutsu, A Sophisticated Look is a big poop joke with meaningful overtones.

A new short, Buzz Stinger animated in After Effects and converted to (a rather nice looking) Flash Video. Just a quick thing NG hadn't seen, hope ya like it.

Anyone want a Buzz Stinger poster? I sure do, we've got an Ink Shop opening right next door to our studio, and I designed it at 300DPI...leave a comment or send a PM.

Due to the sucess of the Olympus Burger pilot [thanks to everyone who voted and reviewed, by the way!], I decided to release a little short we did a little while ago featuring Apollo. Upgraded it with some lighting effects, and here ya go NG!
